Happy Holidays! I hope this message finds you, your family and friends doing well and in great holiday spirits. I am hopeful that you have made your financial pledges AND/OR donations to the National Alumni Center Campaign. If not, please consider starting your contributions and payments in 2023. With the untimely passing of one of our dear fundraising leaders, David Walters, Sr., we are determined more than ever to raise these funds over the next several years but we need ALL alumni and friends to support this effort. In the words of our late board member, David, “WE WILL DO THIS!”
We are pleased to announce that Diamond, Platinum and Gold Life Member lapel pins have been mailed and you should have received yours by now. The Silver Life Member lapel pins are being mailed next. Eventually, all life members will have your pins and we encourage you to wear them with pride. Our General Membership Kickoff Campaign will begin January 1 so if you aren’t a life member yet, please prepare to pay your annual alumni membership of just $50 annually. We are still encouraging life members to “LEVEL UP” to the next level of life
membership until you reach the highest level which is the Diamond level. We are excited about our membership campaigns and our alumni are getting more involved across the Nation.
Also, please remember our Hardship Scholarship Fund. Any amount of donation to this fund will be helpful to help students who are having financial difficulties. You can call our office to donate, mail a check or go online to www.uapbalumni.org
As my term as president comes to an end, I would like to say that it has been my honor to serve you in this capacity for the past two years. We have adapted to many challenges including two first ever virtual summer conferences due to the COVID-19 virus. We increased our alumni membership participation and we increased our funds into the Alumni Center Campaign. We were pleased to be able to bring back our Annual Alumni Luncheon during Homecoming Week which turned out to be a really great success. We launched an Alumni Membership Roundup that was well attended and I hope the next administration will continue that effort.
I would like to acknowledge our National Alumni Board of Directors and all the alumni I worked with over the course of the past eight years I have served on the board. I will serve one year as immediate past president and then I will roll off the board. However, I commit to remain active and support Dear Mother and the National Alumni Association in any way that I can.
Peace & Blessings to each of you. Hope each of you are having a golden day.
