“We are saddened to learn about the passing of fellow board member David Walters Sr. He was a leader and championed our Alumni Center Capital Campaign and reinstated our Alumni newsletter. He will truly be missed. We are praying for his family and friends.” — Kymara Seals, President and Chairman of the Board
“We are saddened at the sudden and unexpected loss of David Walters, Sr. He was a servant leader who was dedicated to the Board of Directors and the Alumni Center Capital Campaign. A trendsetter and pathway maker, he launched the Alumni Fry, Alumni Que and Alumni Voices Roar newsletter. David incorporated his vison for the future through the redesigning of our website and incorporation of new business operations processes. He demonstrated the importance of teamwork and helped us whenever we needed him. During our recent Homecoming celebration, he personally assisted me by setting up the refreshments for our Board meeting. He later facilitated and met individually with donors who attended our Alumni Meet & Greet, another innovative idea that he created. A former Alumni King, he took great pride in representing UAPB/AM&N with style, dignity and grace. It is my prayer that the peace of God that surpasses all human understanding rest, rule and abide with David’s family and friends. His contributions to the National Alumni Association will forever remain an important part of the fabric of our organization. We will continue to honor his hard work, spirit of creativity and legacy.” — Kim Jones Sneed, Director of the National Alumni Association
